She asked her followers to ignore any tweets from the account until she could resolve the situation. Concerned fans reached out to offer support and even suggested that her Criminal Minds character, Penelope Garcia, should help solve the case. Luckily, Paget was able to figure out that there was a phishing campaign through email pretending to be X or Twitter.

She reassured her followers that she had fixed the issue herself. This incident happened less than six months after Paget expressed concerns about being impersonated on X. The platform had removed the blue checkmark verification from accounts and required users to subscribe to Twitter Blue to regain it. Although some received their verification back, Paget's account still does not have the blue checkmark.
