Filming has started for the first international series of NCIS, set in Sydney and featuring local Australian actors and producers. The show is set to launch in 2023 after a deal between Paramount Plus Australia and Network Ten. The popular drama series, which was recently renewed for a 19th season with star Mark Harmon returning as Leroy Jethro Gibbs, attracts an average of 12 million viewers per episode and has spawned spin-offs including NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans (which was canceled after seven seasons), and NCIS: Hawaii, which debuted this fall.
