Tom Selleck opened up about his experience of channeling Matthew Perry's character, Chandler Bing. During his interview with , the actor discussed an ongoing gag in "The One Where Old Yeller Dies," a Season 2 episode where Joey and Chandler start behaving like Richard after hanging out with him. "We had this role reversal thing going, where (Richard) tried to be like them, and them like me," Selleck explained.

During one of the shots, Richard says Chandler's signature line, "Could that shot any prettier?" but the actor had some trouble delivering the line the way Perry did. "Matthew had this speech pattern that I hadn't been aware of," Selleck says. "Matt told me: 'It's a joke, Tom. It's the way he says it.' But during that whole show, I kept going up to him asking, 'Can you say it again?' and he'd do the line," Selleck recalled. "That was his signature."
