A new study reveals that owners of well-behaved dogs are generally happier. Researchers looked at the relationship between how dog owners perceive their pet's behavior when they are alone and the owners' levels of happiness and stress. Stressed owners may not respond well to their dog's misbehavior, leading to a negative cycle of stress and anxiety. The study, conducted in Mexico, compared owners of dogs with separation-related behaviors to those with well-behaved dogs. Well-behaved dogs were rated as more trainable, while dogs with separation-related behaviors were more attached but had worse relationships with their owners. The study suggests that improving a dog's behavior can lead to increased happiness for the owner.
