Matthew Perry, Friends' Chandler Bing, dies at 54


Matthew Perry, best known for his role as Chandler Bing in the hit TV show Friends, has died at the age of 54. The actor was found dead in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home, with law enforcement sources stating that there were no signs of foul play. An autopsy has been conducted, but results are pending a toxicology report. 

Perry's family released a statement expressing their heartbreak and appreciation for the outpouring of love from fans. The official Friends and Warner Bros. accounts also shared news of Perry's passing, describing him as a "true gift to us all." Perry rose to stardom alongside his Friends co-stars in the 1990s and continued his TV and film career in subsequent years. 

In recent media appearances, he opened up about his struggles with addiction, which were brought on by painkillers following a 1997 accident. Perry eventually achieved sobriety and dedicated his life to helping others overcome addiction.
