After almost 20 years, Mark Harmon left NCIS at the start of season 19, leaving fans wondering if his character, Gibbs, will return. In an interview, Rocky Carroll hinted that Harmon could return in the future, stating that as long as the show is on the air, there will be a tease of Gibbs' return. Harmon himself suggested that Gibbs was purposely written out in a way that allows for his return. NCIS executive producer Steven D. Binder also hinted at Gibbs' return, reminding fans to never count him out.
