Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni, longtime co-stars on Law & Order: SVU, teamed up to honor real-life heroes on International Firefighters Day in New York. The two actors trained with the Leary Firefighter Foundation, founded by their friend and former co-star Denis Leary, to provide funding and training for fire departments across the globe. Mariska shared photos and a video of herself rappelling down a structure in full gear, impressing fans who were amazed at her quick recovery from a fractured ankle. The LFF has also partnered with the NYFD to create training videos that have reached over one million firefighters in the US.
