Actors often go to great lengths to fully immerse themselves in their characters, even if it causes problems for them or those around them. Method acting is a popular technique that allows actors to get inside the heads and bodies of their characters. Jim Parsons, who played Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory, did not need method acting to connect with his character. Both he and Sheldon lost their fathers unexpectedly. Parsons even attempted to communicate with his father through a medium. Although the tragedy cannot be undone in real life, George Cooper is still alive in the finale of Young Sheldon season 6, giving fans hope for his return in season 7.
