First look at NCIS: Sydney as filming for the new series gets underway
The first ever international series of NCIS, entitled NCIS: Sydney, is currently being filmed in North Bondi. The new show will feature local Australian actors and producers, and is set to launch in 2023 after a deal was made between Paramount Plus Australia and Network Ten. The cast and crew were spotted on set, with one actress wearing a red shirt and black pants as she walked alongside her male co-star. After filming their scene, the co-stars were seen chatting to crew during a break. Chief Content Officer and Executive Vice President of ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand, Beverley McGarvey, expressed excitement for the inaugural international series of NCIS in Australia, stating that it is a privilege to continue the legacy of such a wonderful show while introducing new Australian characters and locations. NCIS: Sydney will be joining the ranks of other CBS spin-offs such as NCIS: Los Angeles, which is currently in its 13th season, NCIS: New Orleans, which was canceled after seven seasons, and NCIS: Hawaii, which premiered this fall. The original NCIS was a spin-off of JAG that ran for 10 seasons between 1995 and 2005, and has since become TV's most watched series.
