Jennifer Lawrence is no stranger to the spotlight, and her equanimity in the face of embarrassment is noteworthy. She had a candid conversation with Oscars Ambassador Amelia Dimoldenberg during the 2024 Academy Awards, reflecting on her infamous falls at the Oscars. Surprisingly, she had a sense of humor about it. "Well, yeah, just don't do that," she responded when asked if she had any advice for winners about avoiding steps mishaps. Jovially, she added, "I fell the next year too. So then it just looked like I 100% faked. Oh, it was awful."
The award-winning actress recalled the 2014 incident with comic humility.
The Silver Linings Playbook star has been self-deprecating about her previous falls, including during her acceptance speech back in 2013. "Thank you. You guys are just standing up because you feel bad that I fell and that's really embarrassing," she deadpanned at the time.
Lawrence looked back at these experiences during a podcast interview in 2020. "I was very nervous and also very superstitious... And then I fell, and it erased everything from my mind. My full brain went blank." However, she admitted she can now look back at it fondly, though the fall remained a sensitive topic for a while.
