Mariska Hargitay, the 57-year-old actress famous for her role as Detective Olivia Benson on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, recently suffered another injury. Over the July 4th weekend, she broke her ankle and had to be hospitalized. This incident follows a previous injury earlier this year when she broke her knee and suffered a hairline fracture in her other ankle.
Hargitay took to Instagram to share a close-up photo of her injured foot and ankle in a cast. She humorously referred to it as her "summer look" and added hashtags like "#specialankleunit," "#crackingthecase," and "#agonyofdefeet." She also mentioned that it was lucky that only one foot was affected, while the other foot remained comfortable in a sandal.
According to reports, Hargitay's latest accident occurred when she slipped and fell on wet pavement while attending a Black Widow screening at the Cinema Society in the Hamptons. An ambulance was called, and fellow actress Brooke Shields, who is currently recovering from a broken femur herself, allegedly rushed outside to assist Hargitay.
Despite her injuries, Hargitay showed concern for others by ensuring that everything went well at the party she had planned at her home. Although she arrived back at her house after midnight, she prioritized the enjoyment of her guests over her own condition.
This recent injury adds to Hargitay's series of mishaps, which began in May when she revealed her broken knee and ankle fracture through a photo posted outside a hospital in New York City.
It's worth noting that accidents and injuries are unfortunate occurrences that can happen to anyone and should be treated with empathy and understanding.
