Dick Wolf, creator of "Law & Order," named characters after his children, Olivia and Elliot. The show premiered in 1999 and Mariska Hargitay's character, Detective Olivia Benson, has become the longest-running live-action character in history. Wolf divorced the mother of his children in 2005 and went on to have two more kids, but only two of his children have TV characters named after them. The sibling connection between Benson and her partner, Elliot Stabler, may be why they never got together on the show. Family is important to Wolf and his company, and his son Elliot is now involved in expanding the franchise's digital presence.
