After spending 232 days overlooked in a shelter, a cat named Sarina has finally found her forever home. Sarina, along with her four kittens and another cat named Leah, was brought to the RSPCA West Dorset shelter in the U.K. They were living in less-than-ideal conditions and struggling to cope. While Leah and the kittens were quickly adopted, Sarina remained in the shelter for over eight months. Despite being 7 years old and black-and-white, which are less popular traits among adopters, Sarina's loving personality eventually won over her new owner. In 2023, 6.5 million animals entered U.S. shelters, with around 850,000 animals being euthanized. Fortunately, Sarina is now thriving in her new home, enjoying cuddles and following her owner around the house.
