Actor Anthony Mackie, famous for his role as Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), is gearing up for his latest project titled "Outside the Wire." In this upcoming sci-fi thriller, Mackie takes on the role of Leo, an android officer. Directed by Mikael Håfström, the movie tells the story of Leo who must team up with drone pilot Thomas Harp (played by Damson Idris) to locate a dangerous doomsday device in a treacherous militarized zone.
The trailer for "Outside the Wire" reveals that Leo keeps his true identity a secret from his fellow soldiers, claiming that only two people truly know who and what he is.
Mackie fans will be excited to know that he will be reprising his role as Sam Wilson in the upcoming MCU series, "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier." This new series, set after the events of "Avengers: Endgame," will focus on Wilson as he takes on the mantle of Captain America. Teaming up with Bucky Barnes, played by Sebastian Stan, the duo faces off against the Flag-Smashers, a dangerous anarchist group.
In addition to these projects, Disney+ will also be releasing other MCU stories in the coming year, including "WandaVision," which focuses on the relationship between Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany). Furthermore, the highly anticipated Black Widow standalone film, starring Scarlett Johansson, will explore the character's past as a spy.
With all these exciting projects on the horizon, fans of the MCU and Anthony Mackie have plenty to look forward to in the near future. "Outside the Wire" will premiere on Netflix worldwide on January 15th, 2021.
