Paul Wesley revealed an interesting and somewhat unconventional tactic he used during his chemistry read with Nina Dobrev for The Vampire Diaries. Instead of the traditional polite introductions and ass-kissing, Wesley decided to take a different approach. During Michael Rosenbaum’s “Inside of You” podcast, Wesley confessed, “I’m not going to look her in the eye and I’m also not going to introduce myself. I’m just gonna sit in the corner.” His reasoning was to make their actual meeting more special and in line with their characters' backstory.
Dobrev, on the other hand, initially found Wesley’s behavior off-putting.
Despite their rocky start, Dobrev and Wesley eventually formed a close friendship. Dobrev revealed, "We ended up getting to a good place and it was fine. Of everyone, I think I probably see him the most and hang out with him the most. We’re probably the closest. We hang out a lot. We’re really good friends."
Their initial tension eventually turned into a strong bond, proving that sometimes the most unlikely relationships can blossom into something truly special.
