Big Bang Theory’s Mary Cooper Actor Considers A Face-Off With Her Daughter’s Young Sheldon Version
Laurie Metcalf, known for her role as Mary in The Big Bang Theory, recently expressed her desire to share the screen with Zoe Perry, her real-life daughter who portrays a younger version of the same character on Young Sheldon. Metcalf originally popularized the role of Mary Cooper, the matriarch of the Cooper family, in The Big Bang Theory. Although she was not a regular cast member, she was one of the most prominent guest stars on the show. As Young Sheldon season 7 approaches its conclusion, Metcalf suggested the idea of a Mary Cooper face-off with Perry in an interview with Collider. Metcalf currently stars as Jackie in The Conners on ABC.
It has been announced that Jim Parsons, who played adult Sheldon on The Big Bang Theory, will make a cameo appearance in the Young Sheldon series finale, along with Mayim Bialik, who played Amy. This opens up the possibility for Metcalf to reprise her role as Mary, potentially shedding light on George's death in Young Sheldon. While fans eagerly anticipate a possible The Big Bang Theory reunion, the focus will likely remain on the main characters of Young Sheldon. With only a few episodes left before the finale, viewers are in for an exciting conclusion to Sheldon's time in Texas. Young Sheldon airs on CBS every Thursday at 8pm ET, chronicling Sheldon Cooper's journey through childhood and adolescence in pursuit of his passion for science and academia.
