In a recent interview, Yellowstone star Cole Hauser revealed an interesting anecdote about his relationship with series co-creator and writer Taylor Sheridan. Hauser explained that the two men actually got into a fight the second time they met, years before they began working on Yellowstone.
Hauser, known for his rough and tough character Rip Wheeler on the show, mentioned that he has had plenty of offscreen preparation for his role. When asked if he had ever been in a bar fight, he replied, "Does a bear sh*t in the woods? I've probably been in one on every continent." He further expressed that sometimes physical confrontation is necessary when words fail.
Hauser described Sheridan as a similarly intense and focused individual, stating that they have become close friends. Sheridan even draws inspiration from Hauser's own early life to elicit emotional reactions from him on screen. Hauser praised Sheridan's work ethic and mentioned that they both care deeply about the quality of their work and portraying their characters realistically.
As for the future of Yellowstone, the show is currently on hiatus after airing the first half of Season 5. Paramount has announced that the second half of the season will air in November, although the ongoing Hollywood writers strike may have an impact on the schedule. Additionally, it has been reported that Kevin Costner's character, John Dutton, will die early in the back half of Season 5. The show is set to conclude after Season 5, with Matthew McConaughey rumored to star in a sequel to premiere shortly after Yellowstone concludes.
