NBC has commissioned a 13-episode series, created by Dick Wolf and titled “Law & Order: Organized Crime”, which will star Christopher Meloni reprising his role as NYPD detective Elliot Stabler. The show will be the first from the five-year, nine-figure deal that Wolf recently signed with Universal Television. The series will focus on the organised crime unit of the NYPD and could potentially crossover with its sister show, “Law & Order: SVU”. Meloni starred alongside Mariska Hargitay in “SVU” for the first 12 seasons. The new show is expected to air later this year, following Meloni’s appearance on the HBO drama, “The Plot Against America”.
