Although they were pretty close as teenagers, they're not such good friends today and Mayim is to blame for it. In a recent interview, the actress revealed how she ruined her friendship with Harris.

Mayim Bialik And Neil Patrick Harris Were Both Successful Child Actors

Mayim Bialik started her professional career as a child actress in the late 1980s. She also appeared in the music video for Michael Jackson's song Liberian Girl in 1989.

Bialik didn't get her big break until 1990, when she landed the leading role in NBC's sitcom Blossom. Following the success of this 90s sitcom, Bialik appeared in Woody Allen's comedy film Don't Drink the Water (1994) and worked as a voice-over actor for many animated series, including The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest, Recess, Kim Possible, Johnny Bravo, and Hey Arnold! Then, she took a break from acting to focus on her studies, but came back in 2005.

Neil Patrick Harris also began acting at an early age. In fact, he was discovered by playwright Mark Medoff in a drama camp in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Medoff ended up casting him in the 1988 drama film Clara's Heart, starring Whoopi Goldberg. This role would earn Harris his first Golden Globe nomination and would kickstart his career. That same year, he starred in Purple People Eater, a children's fantasy film.

In 1989, Harris gained international stardom when he landed the role of a child prodigy doctor in Doogie Howser, M.D. After the show's four-season run came to an end in 1993, Harris played a number of guest roles on television series, including Murder, She Wrote, Blossom, and Rosseane. He also appeared in movies such as Animal Room (1995), Starship Troopers (1997), and The Proposition (1998).

Mayim Bialik And Neil Patrick Harris Met Through Their Agent

Mayim Bialik and Neil Patrick Harris were both successful child actors. With their careers starting almost at the same time, they were bound to meet at some point. As it turns out, they met because they had the same agent and became fast friends.

In an interview with James Cordon in The Light Night Show, Mayim Bialik, "Neil Patrick and I were friends as teenagers. We had the same agent and we ran in the same social circles… We had a lot of fun together as teenagers, we were these nerdy child star people."

They even got to work together in an episode of Blossomin 1991. In the episode "Rockumentary," Blossom (Bialik) dreams of becoming the most famous rock star in the world. In her dreams, she meets Derek Slade (Harris), a young star who encourages Blossom to dump her father as her manager. Their scenes show they had great chemistry together, both on and off-screen.

Mayim Bialik And Neil Patrick Harris Had A Terrible Fall Out

Although they were really good friends growing up, Mayim Bialik and Neil Patrick Harris' friendship ended rather abruptly due to something the Big Bang Theory star's hatred towards musicals.

"I have a very bad story about a musical. I saw Rent — I was friends with Neil Patrick Harris," the actress revealed while appearing in The Late Late Show with James Corden.

"I was a teenager and it wasn't my thing. But when your friend is in the play and everyone is clapping at the end and you say to your boyfriend next to you, 'I don't want to stand for this,' and then you look up and Neil Patrick Harris is looking right at you — it's a bad day."

So, Mayim stayed put while everyone else was giving a standing ovation around her, although she admitted that "Neil was fantastic, he's amazing, but I just wasn't into the 'let's give a standing ovation,' it wasn't my thing." But, when she went backstage, Neil was clearly upset over her actions. And their friendship was never the same after that.

"It was terrible. It was bad," Bialik recalled. "We didn't speak for a long time." She admitted that the How I Met Your Mother actor sent her flowers after he heard she still felt bad about that incident. While they're on better terms, it seems that they're not as good friends as they used to be.
