Love, at first sight, is something that many people would love to experience, and for a lucky few, it is something that happens. This was the case for "NCIS'" Michael Weatherly. However, it didn't turn out as a happy ending. Only later in the actor's life was it that he managed to find his happily ever after with a new woman.

Michael Weatherly met Amelia Heinle met on the set of "Loving." While Weatherly had been accustomed to life on a set, "Loving" was Heinle's first big gig. They worked together on the show for a while, but The couple began dating shortly after meeting, then got married in 1995.

However, their relationship became difficult once "Loving" got canceled, even though they had both pursued their own endeavors in their personal and professional lives. They participated in spinoffs of "Loving" as well as other projects, but nothing worked. When the pair separated, they had just had their son, August.

The fact that the couple was trying to keep afloat after the "Loving" cancellation and the cancellation of their spinoff series led to a lot of stress in their , ultimately leading to their divorce in 1997.

Weatherly has spoken openly about his first marriage multiple times, and once, he revealed what he thought it was that ended his marriage, mentioning both his age and his abilities as a husband and father. He :

"I was 27 and could barely take care of myself, but I had to feed people and put a roof over their heads."

He also shared that it was difficult for his son, August, to adjust to his parents’ divorce as it is for any young child who doesn't understand the concept. Weatherly said that his son found it especially difficult because his parents lived so far away from each other.

THE ACTOR MET HIS SECOND WIFE WHEN HE WASN'T LONELY

It took Weatherly a long time to finally settle down again after his divorce from Heinle, but eventually, in 2007, the actor met Bojana Jankovic at a bar in Vancouver. Once again, it was love at first sight for the actor as he met the woman who he would soon marry and start a new family with.

He had mentioned that his friend asked him if he was , and he replied that he was content with his life, but he soon saw Jankovic and realized that he would be far more content if he were with the lady that caught his eye. He couldn't help himself but be interested in the woman that was sitting across the bar from him and found himself thinking about her and what could be.

He revealed that he saw her in his peripheral vision and was intrigued by her from the start, which lead him to eventually approaching her and starting a conversation that lead to a relationship. He :

"I kept looking out of the corner of my eye and seeing this ravishing, gorgeous beauty."

Although he wasn't looking for a relationship when he met Jankovic, he would soon find himself in one again. Jankovic also that "[They] made eye contact. And that was it." The pair fell in love almost immediately at the bar and got married soon after. They have been happily married since 2009 and started a family together.

MICHAEL BECAME A DEVOTED FAMILY MAN

After meeting Jankovic, Weatherly knew that his days as a single man were over and that it was time for him to become a devoted family man to his new wife and any children that may be born from their marriage. The couple did eventually welcome two children together, Olivia, aged 10, and Liam aged eight. Weatherly has since mentioned that he prides himself on his children and his wife.

The star knew he had to do things differently the second time and adjusted his behavior accordingly to ensure that his new wife was treated better than Heinle and his second marriage ended better than his first. He even :

"When I got remarried, I wanted to do my very best to ensure that rupture wouldn't happen again. My kids and my marriage are the things I'm proudest of."

He then explained what he had to change to become the man his new family needed him to be. He mentioned that while he was a workaholic before, he had changed that habit significantly.

While Weatherly spent his time accepting any and every role he came across when he was married to his first wife to keep the family afloat, it ultimately caused them to separate and eventually divorce. He did not want anything to jeopardize the relationship that he had with Jankovic and would go to any lengths to ensure that he kept his relationship with her safe.

Weatherly ensured he did not make the same mistake with his second wife, he made a concerted effort to ensure that he was stern with his working habits and behavioral patterns. He explained how he achieved this by :

"I don’t bring my work home. I'm a single-track-mind person, so at work, I do my work, but at home, I’m devoted to my kids."

Weatherly's new wife is an award-winning physician and, before becoming a doctor, dabbled in the entertainment industry. In 2007 she worked on a short film "Do Not Leave Me With Strangers" and a 2009 Serbian TV series "TVWWW." Jankovic mainly helped out as a writer and an assistant director on these shows, instead of an like her husband.
