Anime history is filled with comical censorship moments, such as Tokyo Ghoul replacing violent scenes with negative filters, and Dragon Ball Z changing the Hell dimension to the "Home for Infinite Losers." In Yu-Gi-Oh, guns were edited out, leaving characters pointing fingers instead. One Piece famously replaced Sanji's cigarettes with lollipops. Digimon turned a bomb character into an orange to avoid violence. Pokémon famously claimed obvious rice balls were actually donuts, and Sailor Moon made Uranus and Neptune cousins instead of lovers. The popular School Days' violent finale was censored to show a "Nice Boat," which led to a meme. These changes may have been made to cater to international markets, but they unintentionally added humor to the anime stories.
