The premiere of "Law & Order: Organized Crime", the new spinoff series centered around Chris Meloni's return as Elliot Stabler, has been delayed due to showrunner Matt Olmstead's exit for creative reasons. The series was previously slated to air on NBC this fall after "Law & Order: SVU". Although the delay has disrupted NBC's broadcast season schedule due to the pandemic, sources say the show will still air sometime during the 2020-2021 season. The series follows Stabler as he returns to the NYPD to combat organized crime after a personal loss. Meloni starred alongside Mariska Hargitay in "SVU" for 12 seasons before departing in 2011.
