Jennifer Aniston paid tribute to her "Friends" co-star Matthew Perry at the Critics Choice Awards, just three months after his death. When asked how she hopes fans will remember Perry, Aniston said they should celebrate him. Perry died on October 28 from an accidental drowning in his home's hot tub. 

The autopsy report revealed that his death was caused by "acute effects of ketamine." Perry had been undergoing ketamine infusion therapy to treat depression and drug addiction, and it was unclear whether he had a prescription for the drug or obtained it illegally. Aniston had been in contact with Perry on the morning of his death and said he was not in pain and was happy. The "Friends" cast released a joint statement addressing Perry's death and referred to him as family.
