Emilia Clarke, best known for her role as Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones, expressed mixed feelings about the new prequel series House of the Dragon.
Despite being happy that the series was happening and praising the talent behind it, Clarke admitted that it felt strange to see a show focused on her former character's family history.
During her time on Game of Thrones, Clarke received four Emmy nominations for her portrayal of Targaryen. The prequel series House of the Dragon takes place over 100 years before the original show and follows the history of the Targaryen family.
Kit Harington, who played Jon Snow on Game of Thrones, also shared his apprehension about the new series. He mentioned that it might be painful for him to watch and support the show, as it would bring up emotions connected to his time on the original series.
House of the Dragon recently won the Golden Globe for Best Drama Series, beating out stiff competition. Series co-showrunner Miguel Sapochnik accepted the award and thanked HBO for trusting them with the beloved Game of Thrones franchise.
As the cast and crew celebrated their win, Sapochnik noted the relief felt by everyone involved and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to continue the legacy of the iconic series.
